Museum open 1st January, not sure if this is just a one off for the Bank Holiday. Despite the modern frontage the main museum is in a row of former fishermen’s cottages. Worth a visit. Friendly staff (or volunteers?)

Very good place although a bit small, I really enjoyed it not coming from the area and good to see pictures and way of life of residents in their early years.

Super tiny little museum. Good addition to trip to Cromer but not quite the main point of the trip.

Nice museum, friendly staff, but really not worth the nearly 9.00 for one adult and a kid, it took about 10 minutes to look round.

Lovely local museum. Well worth a look. Ask for the Queer Norfolk leaflet to explore the LGBT+ historical links. Anna Gurney and others. Oscar Wilde stayed at the Cafe de Paris hotel. There are still ghostly remnants to find.

Quite disappointed in what was on offer for the money . After a quick look in the 3 downstairs displays in the courtyard we ventured upstairs to find NOTHING! Remember going before and seeing plenty of exhibits. Other larger museums charge the same price. So if you want to waste a fiver and half an hour looking at elephant bones and photos of dead fishermen then this is the place for you.

I took in a mammoth bone of which I found and spoke to a lovely lady, of whom took a picture and said curator would be in touch to ID it. It’s quite large and been confirmed it’s probably part of vertebrae or is the shoulder blade of a mammoth, an excellent find apparently. You would think MUSEUM of this kind would certainly be interested! I never heard , so I called the lady and was told the curator was leaving his post, but would chase it, never heard a thing! Very disappointed 😣

A very nice little museum focusing on the prehistoric times and the life in Cromer. Higly recommend a visit during the summer holidays. The museum remains closed during the winter.
